5-Day Mandarin Immersion & Enrichment Program
Our5-Day Mandarin Immersion & Enrichment Program provides students with a consistent and engaging Mandarin-speaking environment in which they develop language skills through meaningful communication, structured instruction, and hands-on learning experiences.
Language is most effectively acquired through consistent exposure, meaningful social interaction, and active participation. Students are immersed in Mandarin throughout the program and develop foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through age-appropriate instruction and interactive activities.
Students are placed in Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced levels based on their grade level, age, and Mandarin proficiency. Our experienced and caring instructors provide structured Mandarin instruction while creating a supportive environment where students can communicate, socialize, and learn in Mandarin. Homework support is also provided as part of the program.

Program Progression
The program is designed around consistent five-day participation, which allows students to receive the regular exposure needed to build strong Mandarin language and literacy skills.
After approximately two years, once a student has developed a solid foundation in Mandarin reading and writing, a 3-day-per-week option may be available, depending on the student’s Mandarin proficiency, progress, and readiness.
Our goal is to develop confident Mandarin speakers and readers while fostering cultural appreciation, curiosity, and a lifelong interest in language learning.

Student Grouping & Class Levels
To support each child’s growth in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, students are grouped according to age, grade level, Mandarin proficiency, and placement assessment.
MPL — TK–1st Grade
For students who are new to Mandarin, have limited Mandarin exposure, or can speak some Mandarin but are not yet reading or writing Chinese characters.
Intermediate — 2nd–4th Grade
For students with previous Mandarin experience or heritage learners who understand spoken Mandarin and are developing their reading and writing skills. Students at this level can generally read and write simple sentences.
Focus: Expanding vocabulary, developing conversational skills, and strengthening sentence-reading and writing skills.
Intermediate High / Advanced — 4th Grade & Up
For students who can hold conversations in Mandarin, read age-appropriate Chinese stories without relying on pinyin, and write short paragraphs.
Focus: Strengthening fluency, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing through discussions, storytelling, and structured writing activities.

Mei Jia Mandarin courses are very affordable--around $18-22/hour for Mandarin lessons, and $10-15/hour for extended care depending on how many Mandarin lessons the child takes per month, and $35/hour for drop-ins

Sibling discount: $50/family
Early birds discount: $100/child (Registered and paid by June 15)
